This is what you can see without paying to enter Villandry:
But without going in, you wouldn’t see the main thing that draws tourists here: the garden.
We had not intended to go see the gardens of Villandry, but I was not disappointed, for sure! My daughter loved the children’s area and family garden, while I was partial to the fields of shaped hedges and labyrinth.
And more of the chateau…which was built in the 16th century on the grounds of a medieval fortress.
